ODE to JOY! Limited Edition Gown to benefit SHINE!

I am proud to be participating again this year in the SHINE fashion event. I have created two things for this. Once is a Limited Edition Gown that is available in my shop until Jan 1, 2010...at which time it will be removed from the shelves forever!

All hand-drawn, using original textures, this gown is selling for $350L with all proceeds to benefit SHINE.

Keep watching, I will be posting the gown that will be offered at silent auction as a one of a kind in a few days!

You know, I have come up with some of my favorite designs when I have been trying (and failing) to do something else. That's how it is with Pearls and Lace. I was trying to work out something and it just wouldn't turn out like what I had in mind...then suddenly I ran with what I had, and here ya go :)

Satin and lace, accented by perfect little pearls! Two skirting options are included-a long skirt for a formal dinner or dancing, and a fun little flexi perfect for coctail hour!

I've been trying to draw a lame I'm happy with for quite a while, they all make it about as far as the wastebasket :) I think I might finally have it though! A variety of newness!

First is a jacket I have been working on for a while, and I am pleased with how it has turned out :)

I am proudest I think because every texture on this very detailed jacket, with the exception of the embroidery, was done by me...from the buttons to the braiding to the little ribbon trims :) This jacket also comes with sculpted sleeve cuffs.

Next up is a Victorian style gown to add to my Guinever line. Gold satin and silver embroidery, oh my! The dress also includes the gemmed hair ribbon. I love shiny things!

I have had requests to rework my Men's Camo Pants for the ladies :) Some people really aren't comfortable modifying some things and so I went ahead and reworked some for the gals :) All it really took was a little resizing of the sculpts, and they are done:

Silver ribbon borders inlays of embroidered sky blue satin on this lovely cobalt gown.

Ruby satin with gem-studded white trims and inserts are offset by gold ribbons and trims in this exquisite gown.

Lovingly crafted with attention to detail. I enjoyed creating every part of these gowns, and I think it shows even in the tiniest details. The textures are original, and most were created specifically for this gown. Stop in and see it :)

phew! Between the sim crash on the weekend (my mainstore was down 2 days grr), and the Glance fashion show for Fashion Designers Associaton, my week has been crazy! Luckily, I had something on the back burner that I was able to finish up and get out for this week :) Jeans! 2 Styles, Hand-Drawn, Low Rider and Regular cut. Both include sculpted lower leg attachments and come in 5 colors.

How well I remember them...they were my favorite jeans. The denim was so worn it felt more like velvet. As they wore out in spots, I patched them lovingly. When the style went from flare leg to straight leg, I took out the leg seams and remade them. Years of work, patches and embroidery went into those jeans! Finally the time came when I had to grow up, and put away those things of my youth...well really, the denim was so worn that anytime I wore them, a new tear would appear on the legs. So I did what so many people did with the old jeans that were lovingly patched and embroidered...I cut them into sexy little cutoffs and wore them for a few more summers before I finally let them go! I had, and wore, and lovingly mended, embroidered, and patched these jeans for probably 10 years. The saddest part is, I can't remember for the life of me what finally became of them...the happiest part is, I can recreate them on SL!

They are not quite ready for release, but I wanted to post them because I am about to wear them out to a best in jeans!

What do you get when you mix a sunny day and Jane Russell? Colorful polka-dots! I was visiting a friend and we were watching an old black and white movie, and there was Jane Russell in a lovely polka-dot dress. I pulled out my trusty little pad and pencil, and my friend just laughed and shook his head (he's used to it).

I started with black and white (the color of the dress Jane was wearing), but the sun was shining and children were playing outside and pretty soon I was turning black and white into colors :)

A friend of mine was DJ at a club, so I TP'd over to listen. When they got there, I found out they were having a latex event. I searched my bags, and no latex. Hmmmm...

I had tried to make latex before but didn't have a lot of luck, so I decided to give it another try. I've gotten some good reviews! From my partner: "ZOOOOM Cams way in" and from my friend the DJ "OMG Ral that is HOT". Now of course, one is my partner and one is my friend, and in both cases they are male and well...you know how men are :P So I present it to you, and we will see!

This dress is done hand drawn in a rich crushed velvet with satin and lace trims, and is reminiscent of the victorian era 'afternoon' dress. It comes with the white blouse and prim blouse ruffle, jacket, system skirt (serves as the lower part of the jacket) and 2 lengths of flexi skirt. It also includes a sunhat with sculpted bows.

All elements of this dress are hand-drawn, including the little gem detail on the prim ruffle, the belt buckle, and even the little pearl buttons!

Only $225L, this dress will be available in my mainstore and on XSSL on May 5 (Tuesday)!

I have been trying to make a decent pair of jeans since May :) Finally enough tutorials and looking things up and experimenting with noise and blur and halftone and blah blah blah!! I love that I actually made the denim 'fabric' myself.

Hello, I'm a wanna be fashion designer in a virtual reality called Second Life. I've been a gamer for a long time, but Second Life isn't really a game for the most part, which is great...I've killed enough dragons, monsters and other players in a series of games and I'm glad of the break! Well...that's what I thought when I started anyway :)

Back in the day (haha) I used to keep a website for stuff like this...but it seems that blogging has taken the place of the old free geocities sites. So off we go!

I have only been in SL for a few months but I am learning :) And that's basically what it's all about for me...learning to create content that I like and that (hopefully) other people will think has merit. I started building on help island, tried making some garden stuff which is pretty laughable now but I did come up with a few fireplaces and fountains that I like. But what I really wanted to do was to make clothes, and off I went to delve into the mysteries of fashion design!

I have my own sort of style, I know what I like and that is what I make. I hope other people will like it too but that remains to be seen.

My first attempts were at costumes and I actually came up with a few good ones (and several that were not so good lol) that I still offer even after I have learned a multitude of things that I was doing wrong...somehow these managed to come out right and they are still on my virtual shelves.

My first costume was a saloon girl, and I call it 'Sassy' (I name everything, don't ask me why). It took a lot of hours to get it how I wanted it, with many do-overs and stubbed toes along the way. I still love it, and even put it into a fashion show a few weeks ago (most of my earliest works I don't even want to put on the shelves now so that's saying something).

The other two I like still are 'Gigi' (Sexy Maid costume) and 'Red Hot' (She Devil costume). 'Red Hot' has a lot of nice texture detailing, and it actually went together pretty easily. I've said before and will again...the whole reason for the idea was the beautiful red satin texture I found. Sometimes red can be a little too orange for me, it's hard for me to find a red I really like, but this fell into my lap and I ran with it.

That's about all I have to say about my early stuff, there were a few dresses with flexi parts (I wasn't very good at skirts yet), some jeans and tops, and lots and lots of stuff that never made it past the drawing board.

While I wanted to mention this early work, from now on I swear! this blog will be in a going forward from this point mode!
